Sharing super easy with emmy

What? With all of our explanations you still have unanswered questions? Well, let’s see if we can help you with that.

What is needed for registration?

All you need is your drivers license and ID. Please be aware you must be in possession of a valid driver’s license for at least one year.
If you register via skype: You need your cell phone at hand.

How do I verify my drivers license?

Pretty convenient with the app.

First of all, you need to download our smartphone application – go figure ūüėČ

It works like this: You record a short video sequenz of your drivers license and afterwards another sequence this time with your face and your drivers license. We’ll have a quick look at it and activate your account. During our validation hours the whole process usually will take no longer than 20 minutes. Those hours are mondays through fridays between 9 am – 8 pm.

We take your data protection serious: The recordings are stored only on servers within European borders and only our employees get access to those recordings. Furthermore we want to clarify that we only use those recordings to check whether you are in possession of a valid drivers license.

Also possible via Skype.

First, please add our skype account emmy.sharing to your contacts. In most cases you will be able to start your skype call with us immediately. If there is too much going on we might have to ask you to wait for a couple of minutes.
Once our skype call has started we will ask you to show your drivers license and ID into the webcam and after that we will verify your mobile number. But we will also explain it step by step via skype.

Easy question, easy answer: nope, noooooo, nada, niente

You only pay as you use our service.

What is my username?
Your username is your E-mail address.

Is it possible to buy minute packages?
Currently not. But we are looking into it.

For which operating systems is the emmy App available?

The emmy-App is available for IOS and Android in App Store or Google Play. Furthermore it is possible to rent our scooters with windows phone. Register here on our website, download the app “Free2Move” on your windows phone and log in with your emmy credentials.

How do I log in?

With your username (your E-mail address) and password, which you set at your registration.

How can I reserve an emmy scooter?

You reserve a scooter with the app. Please check your settings and enable the location based services. Now you allow our app to estimate your current location and you’ll see all available scooters in your surrounding. Click on a scooter near to you. Now you can reserve it.

How do I start a rental?

1. Use our app to choose an available scooter close to you
2. Reserve the scooter by using the “Reserve now!” button
3. Afterwards a button appears to open the helmet box and you need to answer the list of questions
4. Then take the keys, put on the helmet and hop on! Now you’re ready to ride!

How do I end my rental?

You end the rent with the app. Please put everything back where it belongs – especially the RFID-Chip attached to the key, it needs to be in its holder. Then close the helmet box and lock it by using the button in the app which says ‚Äúend reservation‚ÄĚ.

Where can I get an overview of the costs of previous rides?

After every trip you will get an overview via mail. But you can also see it in “my reservations‚Äú (website/app).

What do I need for a trip?

You need to take your drivers license with you. Everything else you need you will find in the helmet box of the scooter. Wearing a pair of sunglasses is of course the best way to look super cool while riding the scooter.

The scooter is damaged, what do I do?

If it‚Äôs not listed in the app, please call us immediately (030¬† 22012440) before you start your ride. That way we can add the damage to the list and it will be certain that you won’t be blamed for the damage.

I am involved in an accident! What do I do?

If an accident has occurred and you’re all right, please secure the site of the accident and provide first aid if necessary. In an emergency with injured persons, you should immediately phone the number 112. In a non-emergency, you should phone 110 for the police. In the event of a minor accident please take some pictures and if possible pull over the scooter at a safe distance from other traffic. Remain at the accident site until the police has arrived.

You have damaged a parked car and cannot reach the owner? Please inform us and the police and wait until the accident has been reported. In any case, you should call and inform us about what happened.

I am having problems starting or ending my rental. How can I get help?

Please call  030  22012440. Our customer service team will do its best to help you out.

How do I start the scooter?

For our scooters that still have a key: All you need to do is to turn the key aaaand…nothing will happen since our scooters are noiseless. But the scooter is on, just turn the right handle of the scooter, it will start to drive.

Our new scooters are keyless! So there is no key that needs turning. Duh! There are three things you need to do to start the scooters:
1. Remove the scooter from its kickstand
2. Slide the red power button to “on” position. You can find the button on the right side of the handle.
3. Pull the break once.

How long does the battery last?

Our rule of thumb: 1 % of battery load will last for 1 km of pure scooter riding fun. If you carry a backpack filled with 50 kg of lead this rule of thumb will not apply and you will have fewer reach.

Do I have to/ can i charge the battery?

No, you don’t/can’t.

We are taking care of charging the batteries. We are going to change the battery packs if the battery level drops below 20%. 1% battery level equals 1 km range.

Is it possible to take a short break from riding without ending the rent?

No problem! You can always take a break from riding the scooter without ending the rent. You just park your scooter and turn the key to the left. After 20 seconds you’ll begin to pay the parking rate automatically (5ct/min). Now put your helmet in the box and lock it by pressing the button in the app. It’s important that you take the key with you.

With our new scooters there obviously is no key to take with you. Here it is even more important to lock the helmet box via app because this will activate the immobilizer as well. Otherwise somebody else could just drive off with your scooter. And we all don’t want this to happen…

Where am I allowed to park the scooter?

You can leave the scooter on the sidewalk which is tolerated by the city. When parking the scooter always keep in mind not to obstruct any pedestrians. Please make sure the scooter is parked next to the street, so no parking in backyards. Entrances, bus stops, the front of a shop window, a park, the area around a parking meter and your private garage on the other hand are no parking zones either.
